KnowledgeTree Drop Box 1.1 Released

Earlier today we released a new version of the KnowledgeTree Drop Box, our quick and easy tool for uploading content from the Windows Desktop to your personal workspace folder. After a successful beta period of over a year, we feel that the Drop Box has reached a stage of maturity justifying the dropping of the "Beta" tag from the release name.

This release includes an overhaul of the session management mechanism, as well as a few patches for issues found in the previous beta editions. For more information please see the relevant release notes.

KnowledgeTree Drop Box 1.1 is available with both KnowledgeTree Commercial and Community Editions.

That's strange. It could be a permissions issue on your server's file system. I'll mail you a few suggestions in a minute.

Same problem

I am seeing the same problem.

It appears a few things are going wrong:

1) The resolved permission for WorkSpace Owner is not resolved correctly (ever?) or not initially set correctly on the DroppedDocuments subfolders. I was getting "DroppedDocuments" folder not created for user initially. My default user is not a Systems Administrator so that shows the problem too.

To resolve that problem I added myself in to have permission and had further success getting to the point as described by Rick - 0 of 1 files uploaded.

So can the suggestions be made public please so those of use who want to suggest the drop box be used succeed?

drop box physically places a file in the var/uploads directory. However, even though I am logged into KT with the same info as the drop box on my laptop, the file is not seen. I have tried logging out and back into KT and it still isn't there. Admin access doesn't show any files. The applet shows 0 of 1 file.

I put the correct extension back on the uploaded file and the file looks fine.

I installed the new version of drop box and it connects just fine. I drag a file to it and it seems to upload it but then it says "0 of 1 file uploaded" and sure enough, it is not in my drop box. Any ideas?

2. Operating System & Version (e.g. Windows Server 2003, Ubuntu 8.0, etc.)
3. Version of Drop Box
4. Could you please provide us with the log file, it can be found in C:\Program Files\Common Files\KnowledgeTree\Drop Box\log
