Inside Sales - Team Leader

Location: Cape Town, South Africa
The Role: Manage and build out the KnowledgeTree Inside Sales Team

  • Manage our growing team of sales executives;
  • Implement and refine sales processes and tools;
  • Sell subscriptions to KnowledgeTree products;
  • Manage sales administration systems including our SugarCRM database.

The Person:

  • At least one year's experience in a leadership position in a software product sales organization;
  • Strong organizational and project management skills;
  • Strong academic track record;
  • Imaginative;
  • Customer oriented.

Product Marketing Wizz

The Role: Help manage our range of products throughout their lifecycle and contribute to the marketing communications around these products.

  • Work with senior management team to position products;
  • Champion and protect the brand;
  • Define and monitor key metrics that indicate the success of ongoing marketing initiatives;
  • Help execute an annual promotional calendar;
  • Develop both online and print marketing material;
  • Alongside engineering, support and sales, liaise with open source community;
  • Help manage relationships with creative firms, PR agencies and online advertising practitioners.

The Person:

  • One year's experience in Product Marketing;
  • Exposure to commercial aspects of software product development;
  • Exposure to online marketing;
  • Exposure to open source software and the commercial open source industry;
  • Able to formulate plans and persuade others to support them;

Inside Sales Executive

Location: Cape Town, South Africa
The Role: Sell subscriptions to KnowledgeTree products

  • Manage organizations who’re evaluating KnowledgeTree through the sales process;
  • Provide support to organizations who’re evaluating KnowledgeTree (e-mail, telephone);
  • Respond to enquiries in a professional, friendly and informative manner;
  • Update sales administration systems

The Person:

  • At least one years experience in Technology Product Sales;
  • Strong organizational and project management skills;
  • Strong academic track record;
  • Imaginative ;
  • Customer oriented.

Customer Support Engineer

Location: Cape Town, South Africa
The Role: Provide product support to existing and prospective customers

  • Provide email and telephonic product support for existing customers;
  • Liaise with engineering team to resolve support issues;
  • Provide support to organizations who are evaluating KnowledgeTree (pre-sales support);
  • Respond to customer support tickets in a professional, friendly and informative manner;
  • Update support issue tracker.

The Person:

  • At least one years experience in Technology Product Support;
  • Strong Windows or Linux Operating System exposure;
  • Strong organizational and project management skills;
  • Strong academic track record;
  • Imaginative;
  • Customer oriented.

Linux Systems Administrator

The Role:

  • Build and manage internal operational systems as well as systems utilized by our customers and community
  • Build and manage internal development platforms, ranging from continuous integration and development servers to virtual machine servers.
  • Build and manage external community systems (website, blogs, wikis, issue trackers, forums) and our ecommerce presence.
  • Build and manage external clustered and virtual server environments.
  • Manage and operate enterprise business continuity and security procedures.
  • Help devise budgets for infrastructure.
  • Provide monthly management reports on internal and external networks infrastructure.

The Person:

  • At least 3 years experience managing Linux servers in mission-critical environments, preferably with exposure to Linux clustering technologies.
  • Experience with Apache, Squid, MySQL, OpenLDAP.
  • A strong competency with TCP/IP networking and network diagnosis
  • A strong awareness of network security with demonstrated competencies in Linux firewall and VPN (IPSec, PPTP) technologies.
  • Experience with server virtualization technologies such as XenSource would be beneficial
  •  An understanding of network and server capacity planning principles.
  •  A demonstrable competency in scripting technologies for UNIX
  •  A Computer Science or equivalent university degree will be viewed in a favorable light.
  •  Vendor certifications (RHCE, SCO ACE, MSCE) will be viewed in a favorable light.
  •  Excellent people skills;
  •  Prepared to travel.

Intermediate Software Engineer (C#.Net, Windows)

The Role: Work with a strong and talented engineering team to build out functionality on the engineering roadmap, help define the engineering roadmap and drive product innovation.

The Person:

  •  At least 2 years enterprise application development experience using C# and Microsoft's .Net Framework and Visual Studio.Net, preferably in a GUI/WinForms environment;
  •  Windows Shell Integration and Microsoft Office Add-in experience would be a plus;
  •  At least 2 years enterprise solution development experience with another object orientated language such as C++ and Java and preferably in a Windows GUI environment;
  •  A Computer Science or equivalent university degree;
  •  Strong oral and written communication skills, problem solving skills, and excellent attention to detail;
  •  Self-starter who works well independently and in teams, and who can work under continual deadlines;
  •  Flexibility and confidence to work in a small company's development environment;
  •  Experience with formal development and testing methodologies;
  •  Excellent people skills;
  •  Public speaking (to a technology audience) experience would be a plus;
  •  Prepared to travel.

Intermediate Software Engineer (PHP, MySQL, Apache)

The Role: Work with a strong and talented engineering team to build out functionality on the engineering roadmap, help define the engineering roadmap and drive product innovation.

The Person:

  •  A passion for Open Source and a deep understanding of Open Source licensing and technologies
  •  At least 2 years PHP development, preferably with a focus on performance and scalability
  •  At least 1 year of MySQL development
  •  User interface and AJAX development would be a plus
  •  Python experience would be a plus
  •  Strong familiarity with Apache
  •  Strong familiarity with Linux/UNIXes
  •  Familiarity with Windows
  •  At least 2 years of other development experience in one of the following C++, C, C#.Net, Java
  •  Experience with formal development and testing methodologies
  •  Excellent people skills
  •  Public speaking (to a technology audience) experience would be a plus
