A summary of the major additions and changes to past versions of KnowledgeTree may be found below. A more detailed list of changes may be found on our issue management system.

  • AJAX-based dashboard, allows users to quickly customize dashboard layout
  • Ability to change the login sequence with plugins, including auto-creating users from authentication sources, or using an Apache server
  • Workflow transitions portlet, quicker access to workflow transitions
  • Change ownership document action, specify a new owner for a document
  • The ability to specify the number of documents visible per page on browse documents and search results pages

Microsoft® Outlook® Plugin
  • Allow users to save Outlook email messages directly in to the KnowledgeTree repository.
  • Save email attachments separately from emails.
  • Attach KnowledgeTree documents to new email messages prior to sending, directly from the Outlook® interface.

  • The ability to make documents immutable, whereupon no new versions are possible, and only unit or system administrators can move or delete them, or edit their metadata.
  • New "Core: Folder Details" permissions allows more granular permission assignment, allowing folder visibility (including in breadcrumbs) to be controlled

3.1 New licensing terms
  • KnowledgeTree Open Source is now licensed under the KnowledgeTree Public License, a Mozilla Public License-based open source license that allows less restrictive use of KnowledgeTree and ensures that the KnowledgeTree branding and copyright are still protected. KnowledgeTree may now be more readily used in commercial circumstances without concern for license contamination of surrounding intellectual property.
